Quintessential Copenhagen, Operaen

I ran along the harbour-front this morning on what was a glorious weekend here in Copenhagen (albeit quite cold!). Although this picture was taken a couple of weeks ago, the scene was identical today with the exception that the water bus (also part of public transit) was labouring through a couple inches of ice. In the background stands Operaen, opened in 2004 as one of the most advanced opera houses in the world. It was a donation by the co-founder of Danish shipping conglomerate AP Møller Maersk with a price tag of 3.18 billion DKK ($575 million).
